July Resident of the Month Named at Huron Nursing Home

Glenda was born and raised in Mississippi, graduated from Falkner High School, and met her husband in school, where they became sweethearts. They were married in 1956 and still happily together. They had three sons. One son Kent is deceased. Other two sons Monty and David both devoted sons and successful. They eventually moved to Memphis, Tennessee, where Glenda ran a miniature golf course. She attended a small Baptist Church and taught Sunday School. They eventually moved to Vermillion, Ohio, where her husband got a job at Lorain Ford. Glenda took this time to return to school to become a Cosmetologist. They found Huron to be such a picturesque small town with great people and moved again to call Huron home permanently. Here is where she owned and operated her own beauty salon. She and her husband raised Mini Schnauzers and later Wheaton Terriers. When asking Glenda what her greatest accomplishment has been, she stated, "Raising my family with God's help."

Glenda enjoys reading, crocheting, and loves to shop. Glenda now calls Admiral's Pointe home. She said being here is as close to home as you can get. Everyone cares and treats you like family. She had a special thanks to the Activity Department stating, "We have been blessed with our activities department. Even during this Covid-19 crisis they brought the activities to us and always kept us smiling and upbeat, such caring, loving people." When asked if she had words of wisdom to share with others, she said with a genuine smile "Be thankful to know God, always move forward in faith, and keep believing."
