Bernard - US Navy
Meet Bernard; he is a service-connected veteran here at Admiral’s Pointe. He served in the United States Navy from 1961-1965 and spent his four active years in various locations around the world ranging from Norfolk Virginia, Albuquerque, New Mexico, to as far as the Mediterranean Sea! While in the Mediterranean he played a vital role in helping jets land safely on the ship and during his time in New Mexico he went through expensive battle training. Bernard smiled as he reminisced how the boys enjoyed playing cards to occupy their free time and would play for bragging rights!

Bernard is a local graduate from St. Paul’s High School in Norwalk, Ohio. Shortly after high school, before joining the Navy, Bernard met his wife through mutual friends and enjoyed their first date in the small town of Attica where they went square dancing! He and his wife are now celebrating 58 wonderful years of marriage! Together, they have four children, seven grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Bernard spent his career in Iron Work that focused on building fire escapes outside of local buildings and recently retired in 2015. They raised their family in the small town of Monroeville then after 20 years moved to Huron where they have enjoyed retirement on the lake!
Please help us salute Bernard for his service in the Navy!
